Panthers in fifth place at Midwest Regional Preview

ST. JOSEPH, Mo.— Drury is in fifth place among 17 teams at the Midwest Regional Preview, hosted by Missouri Western State at the St. Joseph Country Club in St. Joseph, Missouri on Monday. The Panthers are 19-over-par through two rounds and are seven shots behind Missouri S&T for fourth while owning a two-stroke advantage over sixth-place Maryville.
 
Ferris State is in first place at even-par, and they have a three-shot lead over Missouri-St. Louis in second going into tomorrow’s third and final round. Missouri Western is in third place at eight-over-par.
 
Gaige Lewis leads Drury and is in a three-day tie for 10th in a 95-player field. The sophomore from Springfield-Kickapoo is one-over-par after shooting a one-over 72 in the first round and an even-par 71 on his second 18 holes on Monday. Hunter Jowers is tied for 14th and had Drury’s best round of the day, firing a three-under-par 68 in the first round. Jowers followed with a five-over-par 76 to end the day at two-over (144). Meyer Lively is tied for 36th (+7, 149), Pedro Betoret is tied for 50th (+9, 151), and Alex Wiseman is tied for 94th (+24, 166). 
 
Isaac To from Missouri S&T leads the tournament at five-under-par, while three players are tied for second and are three-under par.
 
The third and final round of the tournament starts at 8:30 am in St. Joseph.
